Without Wind, Without Air

British composer and multi-instrumentalist Roger Eno presents Without Wind / Without Air, his third solo album for Deutsche Grammophon. Out on vinyl on 31 October 2025, it comprises 12 tracks for solo piano or orchestral ensemble.

The album reflects on the joys, sorrows and transience of life and love. Tracks include There Was A Ship, a folk ballad about reunited lovers, and The Moon And The Sea, a tale of unrequited love. The title track and The Final Year Of Blossom are inspired by fears about the fragility of our natural world – as is the album cover, designed by Roger’s daughter Cecily, with its image of a mayfly, a symbol for the brevity of life.

Without Wind / Without Air features guest vocal appearances from soprano Grace Davidson and both Cecily Eno and Lotti Eno, Jonathan Stockhammer conducts the Scoring Berlin strings on three tracks, and Christian Badzura arranged and plays on several tracks, having also co-written Forgiveness and After Rain with Roger.
