Since the mid-2010s, we’ve seen a resurgence of ambient music which some have gone as far as calling an actual “boom”. The third part of our deep dive into the genre history traces back these developments to the pre-pandemic days and explains why the difficult distinction between ambient and ambience might be more important than ever.
