Ólafur Arnalds has announced Falling Apart Together, a new live project comprising 19 shows across Europe, the US and Mexico. The series is described as his most expansive live undertaking to date, focused on rethinking the format and structure of a concert setting.
The announcement was accompanied by a mixed-media installation staged in Dublin last weekend. The city will host the opening dates of the tour this October. Installed on Leinster Street South, the work combined a minimal score by Arnalds with video by long-time collaborator Studio Torsten Posselt, reflecting the visual language introduced with the tour reveal.
Produced in collaboration with Micromedia, the installation incorporated a tactile element. Placing a hand on the window activated a conductive speaker, triggering the soundtrack. The site was viewed by an estimated 45,000 people per day and was supported by a digital billboard on nearby Westland Row.
Tickets for Falling Apart Together are now on sale for all announced dates.
