Jean-Michel Blais and Lara Somogyi have been announced to perform at this year’s Montreal Jazz Festival, bringing their acclaimed collaborative album désert to the stage in Blais’s home city this July.
Recorded at Lara’s remote studio in Joshua Tree, désert captures the organic, intuitive musical connection between the two artists. Inspired by the transition from dawn to dusk, the album unfolds over eleven tracks and reflects the moment of its creation - from simplicity to intricacy, and from strangers to kindred spirits.
This rare live performance promises to be a highlight of the summer festival season.
