Erland Cooper’s new EP Berriedale is out today. Named after the RSPB reserve on Hoy in Orkney, it draws inspiration from the UK’s most northerly native woodland - a rare green oasis amid the island’s moorland and glens.
The EP traces the journey of a composition from initial sketch to finished song, mirroring the slow, intricate lifecycle of a tree. Across its tracks, Cooper continues his exploration of Orkney’s unique landscape, where myth, wildlife and fragile ecosystems intertwine.
