Hildur Guðnadóttir Announces New Album 'This Will Be Us'

Hildur Guðnadóttir has announced This Will Be Us, a new album that revisits and reimagines music from across her early catalogue.

Marking twenty years since the release of her debut album Mount A, the project sees the Icelandic composer and cellist return to works from Mount A, Without Sinking and Saman, presenting them in new orchestral arrangements alongside two newly composed pieces.

Recorded with conductor Robert Ames and the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, This Will Be Us features Guðnadóttir as both solo cellist and producer. The album brings together compositions spanning different periods of her career, reframing them through the sound of a full orchestra.

The announcement arrives alongside the release of the album’s first single, Bær, which is available now.

Sharing the news on Instagram, Guðnadóttir described the album as a return to the music that shaped her early artistic journey, bringing together some of her most personal works in a new form.
