Released on May 8, Awakening: The Stillness Within marks Chad Lawson’s most spiritually attuned project to date. Created in collaboration with India’s Vedam Records, the album brings together a distinguished lineup of musicians, including flautist Rasika Shekar and sitarist Purbayan Chatterjee.
Blending Lawson’s signature emotive piano with traditional Indian instrumentation, sacred mantras, and healing frequencies, Awakening is crafted as an immersive listening experience aimed at meditation, restoration, and introspection. The project bridges Eastern musical traditions with Western compositional sensibilities, offering a contemplative sonic space designed for deep listening.
