As winter approaches and we settle into the quieter months, the compilation Cozy Winter brings together new works that reflect the mood of the season.
Composer and pianist Cameron Segal releases his original piece First Snow, which captures the quiet wonder and gentle excitement of the season’s first snowfall. The soft touch of hammers on felted strings evokes a sense of relaxation and a gentle anticipation for the calm, cozy winter ahead. The peaceful, reflective piano piece invites the listener to slow down and savour the moment.
Composer-pianist Meredi has released her original piece Where home is, which captures hope in finding home within yourself. She performs the moving work on a 1912 Starr Richmond piano, its soft melody and calm chords offering warmth and introspection. This intimate solo piece is perfect for the winter, and seeking serene, contemporary classical sounds.
The compilation also features music by Stephan Moccio, Gabriel Ólafs, Eunike Tanzil, Snorri Hallgrímsson and Ola Gjeilo amongst many more. Listen here.
