Hildur Guðnadóttir presents Where to From, her debut studio album for Deutsche Grammophon, out on 31 October 2025. The album brings together nine intimate and contemplative works written, arranged and produced by the Academy Award- and Grammy-winning composer.
Born from sonic fragments first recorded on her phone, the album reflects on friendship, collaboration and the creative spark that arises between artists. “The friendships that form when you work in collaboration are such a privilege,” says Guðnadóttir. “There’s a special bond and a telepathy that connects you with others the more you perform with them.”
The first single, 'Make Space', featuring all six musicians, is out today, 19 September.
Where to From also includes a booklet with an interview between Guðnadóttir and film director Todd Field (TÁR), alongside further artwork by Gisèle Vienne.
This season, Guðnadóttir and friends will bring the album to life in a series of concerts, including performances at Berlin’s Volksbühne (1/2 November), the Barbican Centre in London (21 March 2026), the Vienna Konzerthaus (26 April), Reykjavík’s Harpa (6 June) - where she is Artist in Residence at the Reykjavík Arts Festival - and Amsterdam’s Muziekgebouw for the Holland Festival (late June 2026).
