Chad Lawson has released his new album hush today. The pianist and composer’s latest collection was inspired by a moment at London’s Angel Studios, when the room remained completely silent after the final note of an orchestral recording session.
That moment gave the album both its title and its central idea. Across hush, Lawson pares each composition down to only what it needs, with space and breath becoming part of the music itself. The album is conceived as a restorative listening experience - a place to simply be rather than another solution or self-improvement tool.
