Alice Sara Ott has released Flight from the City, a new single taken from her forthcoming album Jóhann Jóhannsson: Piano Works, due on 6 March 2026.
The track follows Melodia (III) and continues Ott’s presentation of world premiere piano transcriptions of music by the late Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson. Recorded in Reykjavík, the project draws on a new edition of solo piano arrangements published by Faber Music.
Flight from the City forms part of the album’s wider survey of Jóhannsson’s output, bringing together music from his studio albums alongside works originally written for film and documentary, reimagined here for solo piano.
